A mass Zohor prayer and Sunnat Hajat prayer as well as the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Selamat in conjunction with the official opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the 22nd Legislative Council (LegCo) Session for the year 1447H/2026M was held at the Surau of the Department of Councils of State.

Speaker of the LegCo Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib was the guest of honour. LegCo members were also in attendance.

The ceremony began with a mass Zohor and Sunnat Hajat prayers, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Selamat led by Imam Level I Mohamad Hasnal bin Haji Mohamad.

The event was held to seek blessings and a smooth conduct of the official opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the 22nd LegCo Session, as well as throughout the sitting, while strengthening the preparedness of the LegCo in carrying out the entrusted responsibilities during the session.
