With the first meeting of the 22nd Session of the Legislative Council (LegCo) slated to commence on March 12, the council outlined the session’s itinerary held ahead of the session.
Ahead of the sitting, the council will convene to confirm the Minutes of Proceedings of the 21st Session held in 2025, before adjourning for the official opening ceremony, during which His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will deliver a titah.
Key agenda items include debate on the Supply Bill for the 2026/2027 financial year and the Development Fund Motion, both expected to be approved and gazetted for implementation from April 1.
The session will be presided over by Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, with Datin Paduka Dr Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah serving as Clerk to the Legislative Council.
Public access to the session will be open from one day after the official opening ceremony.
The public may observe proceedings from the Council Chamber, with English interpretation available upon request at least 24 hours in advance.
Educational institutions are also invited to arrange student visits by submitting an official letter to the LegCo Secretariat at least five days prior to the intended date. Daily recordings of proceedings will be broadcast on Radio Television Brunei channels RTB Perdana and RTB Sukmaindera at 9pm and 11pm.

Visitors must comply with set guidelines, including formal dress requirements.
Mobile phones must be set to silent mode, and photography or video recording is prohibited without prior permission.
