The establishment of the three Coordinating Ministers is a timely and strategic initiative that will strengthen governance, improve cross-ministerial coordination, and accelerate the progress of Brunei Darussalam towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035, said Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin.

Speaking in support of the motion on coordination towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035 at the LegCo, the appointed member expressed his highest appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, for the wisdom of His Majesty in restructuring the Cabinet and creating the three Coordinating Minister posts.

Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa said the move reflects a forward-looking approach as the nation enters a critical phase in implementing national blueprints, while reinforcing collaboration among ministries and government agencies.

Referring to the special titah of His Majesty during the Cabinet reshuffle on June 4, 2026, he said the success of Brunei Vision 2035 depends on effective leadership. unity, and shared responsibility, requiring ministries to work as one team with common national goals rather than in isolation.

The member also stressed that peace and security remain the foundation of national stability, prosperity, and long-term development.

He noted that national security extends beyond defence to include cybercrime, mis- information, extremism, economic threats, and geopolitical uncertainty, calling for a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.

Turning to economic development, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa highlighted the need for stronger coordination among ministries in resolving cross cutting issues. Drawing from nearly two decades of experience as a livestock industry entrepreneur, he shared the challenges businesses face in dealing with multiple agencies for matters such as land acquisition, licensing, halal certification, foreign labour recruitment, and importation of raw materials.

Describing the creation of the Coordinating Ministers as the best news long awaited by industry players, he proposed establishing a dedicated coordination platform to serve as a central facilitator for resolving inter-agency issues related to economic development and trade.

He added that such a mechanism would eliminate the need for businesses to approach multiple agencies separately, improve public service delivery, strengthen the business ecosystem, and support national economic growth.

He concluded by expressing confidence that under the leadership of His Majesty, Brunei would be well-positioned to realise the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035.
