Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Non-Resident) to Brunei Darussalam Irfan Shakir Oglu Davudov.

During the call held at the Legislative Council Building on Jalan Dewan Majlis, both sides underscored the close bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Azerbaijan, including efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties between the Legislative Council and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan as a step towards enhancing mutual understanding and expanding legislative cooperation between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on current geopolitical developments and explored opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as trade and oil and gas.

Also present during the courtesy call was Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah.
