The Brunei delegation comprised Appointed Members of the LegCo, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Yusof and Yang Berhormat Dayang Hajah Rosmawatty binti Haji Abdul Mumin.
Held under the theme ‘Universal Health Coverage in the Era of Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence’, the meeting discussed progress and challenges in achieving universal health coverage, focusing on the role of parliamentary governance, the impact of climate change on public health and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen healthcare systems.
During the meeting, the Brunei delegation shared the country’s experiences in strengthening primary healthcare, disease prevention and addressing the challenges of non-communicable diseases and an ageing population to build a resilient and sustainable healthcare system.
The delegation also participated in a working visit to Kampot Province to observe the delivery of community-based healthcare services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants adopted the Phnom Penh Communiqué, reaffirming their collective commitment to advancing universal health coverage across the Asia-Pacific region.
