The Public Service Department (JPA) IS currently in the process of collecting data over a three month period, from January to March 2026, through the Human Resources Management System (SSM) to review the attendance and office departure times of civil servants to study and explore appropriate initiatives to address any impacts from pact of the integrated school system related to productivity in the public service.
The initiative was revealed by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof on the fifth day of the First Meeting of the 22nd Session of the Legislative Council (LegCo) yesterday in response to a query raised by LegCo member Yang Berhormat Amran bin Haji Maidin.
He explained, “The data will enable the JPA and relevant agencies, such as the Management Services Department, to assess more comprehensively the implications on operations, task efficiency. and the quality of public service delivery. At the same time, Heads of Departments are also responsible for continuously monoring their officers and staff to ensure the smoothness of tasks, including the effectiveness of office operations, is always maintained.”
