22.12.24 Muzakarah discusses healthcare challenges, solutions

The Ministry of Health (MoH) held a muzakarah session with Legislative Council (LegCo) members yesterday to discuss ideas, issues and suggestions aimed at improving healthcare services for the well-being of the country’s citizens and residents.

Ten LegCo members, led by Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan were present.

LegCo member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz shared, “I admit that maintaining optimal healthcare services is challenging, especially with the rapid changes of globalisation and the need for expertise. This includes the emergence of new viruses that can threaten health security in Brunei Darussalam. This responsibility should not only be borne by the MoH but should also be our responsibility.”

He added, “The muzakarah session is a platform to come up with suggestions or improvements in policy and system as well as the standard operating procedure in relation to health.”

He hoped the LegCo members would use the opportunity to share issues, opinions and recommendations to benefit the citizens and residents of the Sultanate.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar attended the session.
