​Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from Minister-Counsellor of Parliamentary Affairs at the European Union Delegation to ASEAN Antoine Ripoll with discussions focusing on the strong ties between the European Union and ASEAN, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening cooperation.

The importance of strengthening people-to-people engagement, especially by creating greater opportunities for youth, was also emphasised. The meeting was held at the Legislative Council (LegCo) building yesterday.

Both sides expressed confidence that through continued collaboration, the partnership would contribute to a more prosperous future for both regions. Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the LegCo Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah as well as LegCo Members Yang Berhormat Chong Chin Yee and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Isa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin were also present.
