28.05.25 LegCo Speaker receives courtesy calls from foreign envoys

​Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, received courtesy calls from heads of foreign missions to Brunei Darussalam at separate events at the Dewan Majlis building yesterday.

Making the courtesy calls were High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Janbaz Khan and High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam Naureen Ahsan.

During the courtesy call with Janbaz Khan, both parties expressed satisfaction with the good relations between the two countries and hoped that bilateral relations would continue to be strengthened through cooperation in various fields.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman also expressed his appreciation for the contribution of Pakistani citizens who serve in various professional fields in this country.

The discussions also touched on issues of mutual concern and interest, including in the fields of investment, information technology, food security, pharmaceuticals and medicine.

Meanwhile, during the courtesy call with Naureen Ahsan, both sides reaffirmed the good relations that exist between the two countries and also discussed opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation including in the fields of agricultural research, air connectivity as well as strengthening people-to-people relations through exchange of visits.

Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah was also present during the courtesy visits.
