4.12.25 Dialogue strengthens Brunei-Australia ties

Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy visit from Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Michael Hoy, underscoring the long-standing and close bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Australia.

Discussions focused on continuing to work to further strengthen the comprehensive partnership, which serves as an important framework for cooperation between the two nations.

Discussions also highlighted significant collaboration in key sectors, including education, the economy, and trade, as well as Australia’s commitment to enhancing engagement with ASEAN member states.

The dialogue touched on opportunities for inter-parliamentary cooperation, aimed to create avenues for future exchanges.

Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Hurairah was also present.
