5.09.25 Courtesy call strengthens Brunei–UK bilateral ties

Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ken O’Flaherty yesterday.

The meeting underscored the longstanding bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom, which date back to before Brunei’s independence and both sides discussed cooperation at all levels as well as people-to-people ties that continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two nations.

Discussions also highlighted collaboration in various fields, along with efforts to enhance parliamentary relations through the exchange of information and experiences with views were further exchanged on global issues such as climate change and economic diversification, with the hope of broadening areas of cooperation in the future.
