The Ministry of Education (MoE) shoulders a comprehensive responsibility to plan, implement and monitor policy as well as education programme so that the education system will remain relevant, competitive and responsive, said Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Amran bin Haji Maidin.
He said this during a Muzakarah Session hosted by the MoE at Conference Hall 1 (P1) of the MoE yesterday to share the latest development and achievements in the field of education with LegCo members. He added, “The MoE also ensures the well-being and professional development of its staff to play an optimum role in the nation’s education mission.”
Yang Berhormat Amran said, “Today’s Muzakarah is hoped to become an effective platform to exchange views openly and constructively especially in the efforts to raise the quality of education governance and empowering the development of individuals who are knowledgeable, highly skilled and of noble character.”
Minister of Education Datin Seri Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh chaired the session attended by 17 LegCo members.
The minister highlighted the achievements, successes and recognitions attained by the MoE throughout 2025. The achievements reflect the ministry’s continued commitment to its mission, ‘To Provide Quality and Holistic Education for a Purposeful Life for Learners’.
She also highlighted the continuous involvement of the LegCo members, parents, guardians and the community, which is essential in supporting and realising the ministry’s vision, ‘Quality Education, Progressive Nation’.
The Muzakarah session was conducted in a spirit of harmony, marked by constructive and strategic exchanges of views and suggestions aimed at realising Goal 1 of Brunei Vision 2035 ‘Educated, Highly Skilled and Accomplished People’ and to further improve the quality of education in the country.
