The Ministry of Development has unveiled its Strategic Plan
2024-2029, outlining key priorities to advance national development and
improve the quality of life for Brunei Darussalam’s citizens. The plan
aims to align with the government’s vision of achieving sustainable
development and prosperity for the nation.
The launch was announced during a Muzakarah Session between members
of the Legislative Council (LegCo) and the Ministry of Development, held
at the Atria Simpur Hall, Public Works Department headquarters on
Monday. The session was officiated by Minister of Development Dato Seri
Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasised the ministry’s focus on three
core visions: quality life, sustainable development, and a prosperous
nation. These visions are supported by strategic goals that guide the
ministry’s initiatives over the next five years.
“The Ministry of Development is committed to planning and
implementing the National Development Plan to meet current needs while
benefiting future generations,” he said. “With the cooperation of all
parties, I am confident we can achieve our goals and contribute to the
well-being of Brunei Darussalam, in line with Wawasan Brunei 2035.”
Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, representing the
LegCo, expressed gratitude to the ministry for hosting the Muzakarah
Session. He highlighted the session’s value in fostering dialogue and
sharing information, which can help improve the quality of services
provided by the ministry.
The Muzakarah Session served as a platform for open discussions and
the exchange of ideas between LegCo members and the Ministry of
Development, focusing on ways to improve services and programs for the
nation.
The Strategic Plan 2024-2029 reflects the Ministry of Development’s
dedication to advancing Brunei’s socio-economic progress while
addressing pressing needs through sustainable practices. The plan will
serve as a blueprint for driving innovation, enhancing public services,
and achieving the goals set out in Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The session concluded with a collective reaffirmation to work together for the continued progress and well-being of the nation.
