Berhormat Hajah Rosmawatty binti Haji Abdul Mumin attended the 16th
ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Caucus. The two-day meeting
was hosted by the National Assembly of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.
The meeting was officially opened by
President of the National Assembly of Cambodia Samdech Maha
Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary and was attended by
parliamentarians from eight of AIPA’s member Parliaments.
Held under the theme ‘Peace Through
Dialogue: The Parliamentary Path Forward’, the annual meeting aimed to
monitor the implementation of resolutions adopted during the 45th AIPA
General Assembly in 2024. It also sought to strengthen cooperation among
AIPA member parliaments, in line with regional policies and best
practices.
In addition to its core agenda, the 16th
AIPA Caucus featured parliamentary dialogue sessions with eight AIPA
Observer States, AIPA Development Partners and guests of the host
country. These sessions provided a platform to share experiences,
insights, and best practices in promoting regional security, resilience,
and sustainable development.
The meeting concluded with a signing
ceremony for the official report of the 16th AIPA Caucus Meeting, which
will be submitted for adoption at the upcoming 46th AIPA General
Assembly.
