​Eleven participants of the second cohort of the Leadership Programme for Young and Future Leaders of Timor-Leste for ASEAN visited the Legislative Council Building on June 26.

Led by the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam Abel Guterres, the visit aimed to provide opportunities for the sharing of information with regard to the roles of the Department of Councils of State, specifically the Legislative Council (LegCo).

The visit also aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the LegCo’s involvement, both domestically as well as at the regional and international levels.

The visit began with a briefing from the Department of Councils of State in its capacity as the Secretariat to the Legislative Council, as well as detailing the processes and procedures of the LegCo conferences based on the Standing Orders.

The visitors also toured the Legislative Chamber inside the building, where the LegCo meetings take place.
