His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni
Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien,
Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented for the
Second Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council (LegCo) session to
convene on August 4, corresponding to 10th of Safar 1447 Hijrah at the
LegCo Building in Jalan Dewan Majlis.
The upcoming session will focus on questions, ministerial statements
and motions, primarily aimed at reviewing and debating national
development matters. LegCo members will also have the opportunity to
raise current issues, proposals and opinions concerning matters of
public and national interest.
Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya
Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji
Mohamed Taib will chair the meeting, supported by Clerk to the Privy
Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the
Legislative Coucil Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya
Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah.
LegCo members comprise ex-officio members, appointed members, titled
individuals, distinguished achievers, and district representatives. They
are expected to deliberate in consensus to examine various policies and
issues to advance the interests of the people and promote the
prosperity of the nation.
