​Religious Officer from Islamic Da’wah Centre Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi yesterday emphasised the important characteristics of a true Muslim, namely faith, the spirit of hijrah and the spirit to improve oneself and change for the better.

He said this during the religious talk ‘The Spirit of Hijrah in a True Muslim’ during a ceremony at the Legislative Council to commemorate Illal Hijrah.

Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib attended the event.

Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah was also present.

The ceremony also saw the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by officers and staff.
